 The rainy season proves to be a boon for the farmers.  They sow Kharif crop in this season.  The rainy season is also a boon for the plants.  Trees and plants become green during the rainy season.  Life is transmitted to them by rain-water.  There is a new radiance and a new youth in the forest-groves and gardens.  Rain water rises in ponds and rivers.  The thirst of the earth is quenched and the water level of the land rises.  Frogs are happy and start making turr-turr sounds.  The crickets start speaking in unison.  The pleasing dance of peacocks begins in the forests.  The view of the green earth and the sky covered with clouds is made on sight.  The rainy season brings peace and relief to the community scorched by the heat.  People enjoy the rainy season to the fullest.

When the south-west monsoon winds enter the terrestrial parts, they cause intense rain with thunder and lightning.  The arrival of these types of winds and the rainfall caused by them is called 'burst or break of monsoon'.  The speed of these winds is 30 km.  per hour and they become effective in the whole country within a month.  These winds are controlled to a great extent by the elevation of the country, because due to the presence of the peninsula in its very beginning, it is divided into two branches - the monsoon of the Bay of Bengal and the monsoon of the Arabian Sea.

Monsoon rains have subsided in most parts of the country.

 Light to moderate rain accompanied by heavy rain occurred at one or two places over Bihar and Northeast Madhya Pradesh.

 Light to moderate rain occurred over Gujarat region, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, parts of Kerala, parts of Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, West Bengal and Northeast India.

 Light rain occurred in some parts of Jharkhand, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala Lakshadweep and West Madhya Pradesh.

 Light rain occurred at one or two places in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, South Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand and Saurashtra and Kutch.
